Abstract
This PhD thesis deals with the optimization of the process used for the synthesis of thin film Cu(In, Ga)(S, Se)2 photovoltaic devices. In this study, the main issue was the current distribution during the Cu-In-Se electrodeposition step.
The hydrodynamic-controlled distribution is optimized for two different electrolysers: the comb-like system, which is the standard stirring system at IRDEP, and an alternative jet system. In order to optimize the hydrodynamic conditions, an electrochemical system (Cu-Ni) was developped, and is used to model mass-transfer phenomena during Cu-In-Se electrodeposition processes.
For both systems, the influence of the variation of the electrolyser geometrical parameters was studied, and a control parameter was developped. The hydrodynamic conditions could be controlled by this parameter, and the homogeneity of the electrodepositions could be improved.
