Abstract

Phospholes, phosphorus analogues of pyrroles, are weakly aromatic species which can, depending on their substitution pattern, display strong ð-accepting abilities. This very interesting property and the few representation of phosphole !
in catalysis have made us design new hybrid ligand based on a !
phosphol
e ring for applications in homogeneous catalysis. Thus, the synthesis of new bidentate ligands of the type phosphole-olefin or phosphole-phosphole are reported in this manuscript as well as their coordination chemistry on several transition metals. Their uses in catalysis have also been explored mainly for coupling reactions (C-C or C-N couplings). We also focused on the platinum catalyzed allylation of amines from allyl alcohol to understand, thanks to theoretical calculations, the experimental activity observed. Catalytic cycles have been characterized and the bite angle of the ligands have been correlated to the activity of their platinum complexes in this reaction.
