Abstract

The properties of the ionic liquids such as their low melting point, their non-volatility, their thermal stability, and especially their faculty to solubilize organic and inorganic compounds, made of them compounds of interest in capillary electrophoresis in the search for new separation media. During this work, two principal research orientations were followed. With the aim to complete the lack of data on these new media, the determination of the physico-chemical (absorbance, viscosity, conductivity) and thermodynamic (apparent inclusion constants, aggregation threshold) parameters was carried out by implementing the instrumentation of the capillary electrophoresis and two electrophoretic techniques (affinity capillary electrophoresis, frontal analysis), showing the interest of the capillary electrophoresis well to characterize the ionic liquids. The second part of this work was dedicated to the study of an application of ionic liquids in capillary electrophoresis, which related to the evaluation of two new chiral choline derivative ionic liquids, as chiral selectors for enantiomeric separations.
