Abstract
The present work is motivated by the request of clinicians for objective parameters to evaluate their clinical practice. In the field of rehabilitation, it is particularly important to develop tools of diagnosis and evaluation. The recent progress in motion capture associated to the development of methods and models used in biomechanics should allow to proposed new protocols of gait analysis, which can be conducted during the clinical examination of the patient. This work was conducted with both an industrial partner PROTEOR (french leader in prosthesis manufacturing) and a clinical partner CERAH (center of research in rehabilitation). The first result of this PhD is the data collection for two groups of subjects. The first data base is composed of 55 asymptomatic subjects who represent the reference population. The second one contains the parameters for 27 trans-femoral patients. Data analysis led to the definition of some characteristics of trans-femoral amputee gait. An important point is that this analysis is in 3D. The second aim reached during this PhD is the definition and the first evaluation of a dynamic model of an amputated patient. We proposed a validation which consisted in calculating external forces applied on the body. This method is for the first time applied to femoral amputees. The interest and the perspective of such a dynamic model for the evaluation of amputees are shown.
